Where to Stay in Santa Cruz? There are three main neighborhoods to stay in while in Santa Cruz: Downtown, the Beach, and Ocean St. Downtown is where all the shopping, cool restaurants, theaters and museums are. There are two lodging choices in downtown: The Adobe on Green Street B&B for nightly lodging and the Hinds House for weekly lodging. There are many lodging choices on Ocean Street, the four lane busy thoroughfare that leads from the freeway to the beach. Most of these are larger chain hotels and motels. Road noise and neighborhood noise on Ocean Street can intrusive. Down at the beach and boardwalk there is lodging near the Santa Cruz wharf. Lodging down there is a bit more expensive than the rest of town and can be quite busy in the summer. The largest hotel in town is at the beach. The Dream inn is several stories high and every room has an ocean view. |
