Oswald Restaurant in Santa Cruz Reopens. Yes, it's true. Oswald restaurant in Santa Cruz is open again. After losing their lease in 2007 they have come back to life at 121 Soquel Avenue at the intersection of Front Street downtown. They have renovated the former sports bar in the corner of the Front Street parking Garage. Their first night of operation in their new location was December 31, 2008. The most interesting thing about their new location is the floor to ceiling glass walls that face the sidewalk on the Front Street (CVS Pharmacy) side. This is where they have the kitchen.
